All our courses are updated to include the latest changes / proposed changes announced in the Coalition's Emergency Budget and Spending Review. Courses can be run at a basic or more experienced level and usually last one day.

The Benefits system for those who are above working age has marked differences,  often meaning a more generous set of rules.  Working age is tied to State Pension Credit age and is changing.  State Pension Credit age is increasing by 2 months every one month and is currently defined as age 63.

Using case studies,  this course examines benefits for those above State Pension Credit age(63)-

  • State Pension Credit(including calculating)
  • State Retirement Pension and changes in April 2016
  • Carers Allowance and additional amounts
  • Attendance Allowance- how to qualify and claim
  • Council Tax Benefit
  • other issues- Winter Fuel Payments,  Couples where one is above and the other below State Pension Credit Age,  Housing Credit, new voluntary class 3A National Insurance contribtuions,   the Bedroom Tax and Benefit Cap,  Health Benefits and Bus Passes.

Cancellation

If you cancel the course more than 3 weeks before the commencement date, then a £35 administration fee will be payable. The course fee will remain payable if you cancel the course within 3 weeks of the commencement date. If we cancel the course, then full refunds will be paid to participants (excluding other costs, such as travel).
