Local Housing Allowances(LHAs) apply for private sector rentals(for both Housing Benefit and Universal Credit housing cost elements). They are rising this April. They will be set at the 30th percentile of rents in a broad rental market area. They have been frozen since 2020 and are not due to rise again next year.
This will cost the treasury £1.7 billion by 2028/29.
