Unusually there were not many announcements about Beneft changes in the Spending review.
The government did give details on the Household Support Fund doubling to £1billion.
This is a one off payment to cover the year from September 2021- October 2022.
People can continue to access support through their Local Authority.
A third of the funding will be ring-fenced to support families with children, while(over two half another third will be dedicated to pensioners.
The total Household Support Fund allocations for the devolved administrations to £82 million for the Scottish Government, £50 million for the Welsh Government and £28 million for the Northern Ireland Executive.
Employees National insurance contributions above the primary threshold have gone up to 13.5%. The threshold will rise between 6 July 2022 to 5 April 2023: £242 per week or £12,570 per year.
