Government statistics about managed migration from legacy beneft to Universal Credit say-

'The statistics show that between July 2022 and March 2024:

a total of 824,050 individuals in 540,070 households have been sent migration notices.

a total of 400,940 of these individuals, living in 275,980 households, who were sent migration notices have made a claim to Universal Credit.

of those who have claimed Universal Credit, 166,860 households have been awarded transitional protection. [around 60%- most of these were tax credit claimants]

a total of 238,990 of individuals who were sent migration notices are still going through the Move to UC process.

a total of 184,120 of individuals who were sent migration notices have had their legacy beneft claims closed

Of course since March other claimant groups have started managed migration-

April 2024- Income Support claimants and those claiming Tax Credits with Housing Beneft, June 2024- Housing Beneft only claimants, July 2024- Employment Support Allowance(IR) with Child Tax Credits, August 2024- Those claiming tax credits who are over state pension age, with households being asked to apply for either Universal Credit or Pension Credit September 2024- Jobseekers Allowance(IB) 2025- Employment and Support Allowance only and Employment and Support Allowance with Housing Beneft.

Remember, to avoid gaps in payment/ possible loss of transitional protection elements, the migration notice will afford 3 months (until deadline day)for a UC claim. This can be extended for good reason if an extension is requested before deadline day. The secretary of state also has discretion to extend deadline day. An automatic fnal deadline day a month after deadline day will also apply.
