UC elements and being sick/ a carer - Fri, 19/04/2024 - 13:00
Husband and wife live together in privately owned property
Wife unemployed and has no NI contributions. She is in receipt of CA for their disabled daughter and also PIP
Husband works earning £400 per week.
No entitlement to UC as their income is too high. However if the wife had LCWRA (which I feel that she would meet the criteria) there would be some entitlement to UC.
I think you told me previously that she can apply for new style CB ESA on a credits only basis to get a WCA. It does not matter if she does not have enough NI contributions. Is this correct?
Have you had experience of doing this and how does in work in practice?
