This course is aimed at those who would like to build expertise challenging decisions- strengthening a client's case and preparing for and, if necessary, representing at first tier Welfare Benefits Tribunals.
It uses a real PIP case.
This course will include-
- which Welfare Benefit decisions are/ aren't appealable
- mandatory reconsideration before appeals
- time limits
- Housing Benefit and Tax Credit decisions
- using a real PIP case- preparation- gathering evidence relevant to the date of decision, statute and caselaw including Commissioner and Upper Tribunal decisions, tips/ tactics, submissions
- the process- roll of both the advocate and tribunals, paper/ oral hearings, what happens on the day of the tribunal
- what happens after the tribunal- whether you win or lose(grounds of appeal to the Upper Tribunal)
